The Network

The project of creating the European Network of Research and Documentation of Performances of Ancient Greek Drama started in 1995 under the coordination of Professor Oliver Taplin, Magdalen College, Oxford University (GB) and Professor Platon Mavromoustakos, Department of Theatre Studies, University of Athens (GR)

The meetings

Since the first meeting of the members of the ARC-NET in Corfu (1997) fourteen more were implemented.

In the course of these meetings members evaluate the past activities of the Arc-Net and plan the activities for the next year.

Summer courses

The Intensive course on the Study and Practice of Ancient Greek Drama is a two-week inter-disciplinary course related to the plays produced in the Ancient Theatre of Epidauros during the time.

''Encounters” presents a substantial overview of recent postgraduate research carried out in Europe. ''Parodos'' is the eight-page Newsletter which is published every six months.

Database

Database

Greek Database of Ancient Drama performances enumerates 1250 performances, mostly of professional character in Greece and abroad. It spans the time period from 1817 since 2008.
